Music Department Presents Instrumental Concert

Hannibal, MO - The Hannibal-LaGrange University Music Department will present an instrumental concert featuring the HLGU Jazz Band and Concert Band on Thursday, April 26 at 7:00 p.m. The concert will take place at the Roland Fine Arts Center in Parker Theatre.
The Jazz Band portion of the concert will feature such pieces as Heaven Medley, arr. by Camp Kirkland; South Side Blues, Doug Beach; As the Deer, Martin Nystrom, arr. by Laird Halling; Comin’ Right At ‘Cha!, Howard Rowe; Goodbye My Heart, Mike Smukal; Another Bump in the Road, Larry Neeck; and Rock of Ages, Thomas Hastings, arr. by Camp Kirkland.
The Concert Band will present The Billboard March, John N. Klohr; Exordium: Prelude to a New Era, James Swearingen; In Heaven’s Air, Samuel R. Hazo; Aventura, James Swearingen; La Cumparsita (The Masked One) – Tango, G. H. Matos Rodriguez; Overture on a Minstrel Tune, Pierre LaPlante; Amazing Grace, Frank Ticheli; and Eiger: “A Journey to the Summit,” James Swearingen.
David Corkern is the director of bands at HLGU.
