Lady Trojans Enter Post Season Play

Lebanon, IL - The American Midwest Conference has released its bracket for the 2011 AMC Softball Tournament. The tournament will slated to begin on Friday, April 29 at campus sites. There will be four quarterfinal round best-of-three tournaments that are all scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. on Friday.
For the first time in program history, Williams Baptist will hold the top seed in the eight-team event. The Eagles went 13-3 to share the AMC regular-season title with Columbia College. Williams Baptist held the tie-breaker over the Cougars to earn the top seed. The Eagles will play host to No. 8 Harris-Stowe State University.
As the No. 2 seed, Columbia will entertain No. 7 seed Hannibal-LaGrange University in a best-of-three series in Columbia, Mo. McKendree University grabbed the No. 3 seed and will host sixth-seeded William Woods University in Lebanon, Ill. The final AMC Tournament quarterfinal-round pairing will have No. 5 seed Missouri Baptist University traveling to Parkville, Mo., to take on fourth-seeded Park University.
The winners of each quarterfinal round series will advance to the AMC Tournament semifinals to be held on Tuesday and Wednesday, May 3-4. The AMC Tournament championship will take place Friday and Saturday, May 6-7. Each round will feature a best-of-three series format with the higher seeds hosting.
The AMC Tournament champion will earn an automatic bid to the NAIA Softball National Championship, which will be held May 19-25 in Gulf Shores, Ala
