Clubs and Organizations

Alpha Chi

Alpha Chi is a national honor society promoting academic excellence and exemplary character. The Missouri Kappa Chapter at HLGU is open to students in all disciplines who rank in the top 10% of the junior and senior classes and who meet certain other requirements.

Alpha Tau Beta

Alpha Tau Beta is a service-oriented sisterhood focusing on leadership, responsibility, spiritual growth, outreach, passion, purity, and accountability. ATB members must be full-time HLGU students with a minimum GPA and in good standing with the University.

Art Club

Open to all HLGU students interested in visual art. Its purpose is to help members gain greater insight about various art forms, to sponsor art-related service projects on campus and in the community, to encourage the enlistment of students pursuing careers in art, and to support the development of the HLGU Art Department.

Chi Rho Worship Club

The purpose or mission of the Chi Rho Worship Club shall be: to create and grow effective worshippers or worship leaders, create a culture of ‘we’ in the family of Christ, represent Christ through servant leadership inside and outside worship services, encourage others to join in worship, define worship in a biblical sense for understanding what worship is before leading others in worship, and to provide experience for future worship leaders.

Christian Ministry Vocations Fellowship (CMVF)

CMVF is an organization for students preparing for Christian ministry vocations. They are required to attend monthly meetings and to participate in various ministry settings.

eSports

The eSports Club is an organization designed to facilitate a physical gathering of online gamers (especially PC gamers). The games of focus are the main competitive eSports platforms; i.e. League of Legends, Rainbow Six: Siege, Overwatch, etc. This club can also create club teams for online competition, such as our League of Legends club team that will compete online or locally against other club teams.

Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA)

An interdenominational organization open to all students who share an interest in athletics, FCA is committed to the Lordship of Jesus Christ.

National Association for Music Educators (NAfME)

National Association for Music Education (NAfME), among the world’s largest arts education organizations, is the only association that addresses all aspects of music education. NAfME advocates at the local, state, and national levels; provides resources for teachers, parents, and administrators; hosts professional development events; and offers a variety of opportunities for students and teachers. The Association orchestrates success for millions of students nationwide and has supported music educators at all teaching levels for more than a century.

National Student Nurses’ Association (NSNA)

Membership in the Hannibal-LaGrange University National Student Nurses’ Association (NSNA) is required for all nursing students, active participation is highly encouraged. NSNA is a national organization that promotes professionalism and helps members work as a team. Its purpose is to assume responsibility for contributing to nursing education in order to provide for the highest quality of health care; to provide programs representative of fundamental interests and concerns to nursing students and to aid in the development of the whole person, including his/her professional role, and his/her responsibility for health care of people in all walks of life.

Phi Beta Delta

PBD is a service organization for men. Its purpose is to set an example for other Christian men in doing good works for others, to strengthen and build ties of support and friendship among its members, and to obtain the aforementioned goals by performing duties and tasks for the community and the college.

Sensus Plenior          

Sensus Plenior, comprised of members of HLGU’s honors program, is designed to provide academically-gifted and highly-motivated students with a deeper and richer college experience.

Students Against Sexual Assault (SASA)

SASA is a student-lead organization set on promoting awareness of the existence of sexual assault, domestic abuse, and human trafficking. Events will focus on promoting awareness, prevention, and support for victims.

Student-Missouri State Teachers Association (SMSTA)

Student-Missouri State Teachers Association is for all education majors and other students enrolled in education classes at HLGU. The purpose of the organization is to promote professional ideals and provide opportunities for personal growth.

Trojan Student Senate

Student Senate is a student led club dedicated to giving a voice to the students and bridging the gap between them and the institution. Student Senate communicates the needs and opinions of Hannibal-LaGrange University students to faculty, staff, and administration with the goal of creating opportunities for students at Hannibal-LaGrange University to lead and serve on campus and in the community. It is also the goal of Student Senate to improve and enhance the experience of students at Hannibal-LaGrange University in practical ways.

Words in Motion

Words in Motion is an organization designed to educate students interested in American Sign Language, Deaf culture, and Deaf awareness. It will provide opportunities to interact with others who share an interest in ASL and learn how to communicate with individuals who are Deaf.
