The Christian Studies department promotes the academic study of the Bible, Biblical Languages, Christian Education, Christian Ministry, Intercultural Missions, and Theology, endeavors to assist students to respond effectively to a personal call to serve the Lord Jesus Christ. The department equips God-called students for effective service in pastoral, educational, denominational, missions and other ministries.

Criminal Justice
The HLGU Criminal Justice program provides students with a rewarding academic experience in and out of the classroom. English
HLGU’s English department strives to provide a framework for excellence in literacy analysis, writing effectiveness, and linguistic inquiry. Faculty members in the department help students to develop skill in writing through courses in composition and creative writing. In addition, they foster the use of critical thinking through the analysis and interpretation of literature as well as the study of the English language.
Exercise and Sport Science
The exercise and sport science department is comprised of departments which study various aspects of human physical activity related to sports and leisure: Exercise Science and Sport and Recreation Management.
