Kathryn Martin Appointed Instructor of Psychology at Hannibal-LaGrange University

Hannibal-LaGrange University is pleased to announce the appointment of Kathryn Martin as Instructor of Psychology, effective January 1, 2026. This new role will be in addition to her current position as Director of Academic and Career Services, where she has served since October 2020.

Martin brings over 17 years of experience in higher education at HLGU, having held multiple leadership roles in admissions and student services. Her deep understanding of student development, academic support, and career readiness uniquely positions her to enrich the Psychology Department’s offerings.

In her current role, Martin created a career readiness class for graduating seniors, hosts an annual career week, manages student tutors, and oversees accommodations to support student success. Her previous roles include Nursing Admissions Coordinator, Associate Director of Admissions, and Admissions Representative, where she consistently demonstrated innovation, strategic planning, and a commitment to student engagement.

Martin holds a Bachelor of Science in Communication Arts from Hannibal-LaGrange University (2004) and a Master of Arts in Positive Psychology & Life Coaching from Indiana Wesleyan University (2025).

“We are excited to welcome Kathryn Martin to the Psychology faculty,” said Dr. Robert Matz, Vice President for Academic Administration. “Her extensive experience and dedication to student success will be a tremendous asset to our academic community.”

Martin will begin teaching psychology courses in the spring semester, continuing her mission to support and inspire students both inside and outside the classroom.
