Hannibal-LaGrange University (HLGU) will host Mission Emphasis Week from February 16 through February 20, 2026, inviting students, local churches, and area youth groups to participate in a week centered on missions, evangelism, and living out the Great Commission.
Mission Emphasis Week will feature multiple worship services, guest speakers, and campus events designed to encourage students and guests to explore God’s call to serve both locally and globally.
Mission Emphasis Week worship services will take place on Wednesday, February 18, at 11:00 a.m. and again at 6:00 p.m., with a Missions Fair beginning at 4:30 p.m. prior to the evening service. An additional worship service will be held on Thursday, February 19, at 11:00 a.m.
The Wednesday services will feature Vance Pitman, President of Send Network, founding pastor of Hope Church Las Vegas, and author of numerous books. Pitman is widely known for his passion for church planting and mobilizing believers for mission work. The Thursday service will feature Price Wright, Lead Campus Pastor of New City Church in Raytown, Missouri, who brings a heart for discipleship and gospel-centered ministry.
Hannibal-LaGrange University is extending a special invitation to local youth groups, particularly students in grades 10–12, to attend the Wednesday evening service. As part of Mission Emphasis Week, one $2,000 scholarship will be awarded through a drawing among students who attend the Wednesday evening service and complete an information card. Students are encouraged to arrive early to participate in the Missions Fair, where they can interact with mission organizations and learn more about service opportunities.
In addition to worship services, Mission Emphasis Week will include a Missions Movie Night on Tuesday, February 17, held in The Loft. A 5th Quarter event will take place on Thursday, February 19, on the Blue Courts in the Mabee Sports and Convocation Center following the basketball games. The week will conclude with an Evangelism Night on Friday, February 20, in The Loft, which will include evangelism training followed by students going into the Hannibal community to share the gospel.
Mission Emphasis Week reflects HLGU’s commitment to Christ-centered education and preparing students to live out their faith through service, ministry, and missions.
