Admission to the HLGU Teacher Education Program:
Undergraduate (Bachelor's) Candidates
- Begin the admission process after completing 45 credit hours
- Must be admitted before enrolling in 300- or 400-level courses
Graduate (Master's) Candidates (seeking certification)
- Begin the admission process during the first semester of coursework at HLGU
- Must be admitted before enrolling in a second semester of coursework at HLGU
HLGU Teacher Education Program Admission Process:
Complete the HLGU Teacher Education Program Application form. Within the form, be prepared to:
- Submit a recent photograph of yourself.
- Submit a typed autobiographical letter (Sample in the Application form).
- Provide a name and email address for a favorable recommendation from an HLGU Education faculty member. (Dispositions Assessment)
- Provide a name and email address for a favorable recommendation from a Field Experience cooperating teacher. (Dispositions Assessment)
- Submit a Cumulative, Professional, and Content GPA.
- Acknowledge that an ACT score of 20 or higher OR a passing ParaPro or ParaPathways score will be needed. (Not required for Graduate students seeking certification.) HLGU is a testing site for the ParaPathways exam. Contact the Education Office at 573-629-3110 for more information.
