SUMMARY:HLGU Theatre Department Children's Show - City Mouse\, Country Mouse
DESCRIPTION:City Mouse\, Country Mouse \nBy Brian D. Taylor \nSeptember 26\, 2025 at 6:30 p.m.\nThe Loft\, L.A. Foster Student Center\, HLGU Campus \nWhen country mouse Sam unexpectedly invites his urban cousin Alex to visit\, Alex hesitates—but puts family first and ventures out of her comfort zone. He arrives to a world without Wi-Fi or indoor plumbing—clueless and completely out of his element. Overwhelmed\, he scrambles back to city life—but guilt soon propels him to return the favor and host Sam in the hustle and bustle of urban living. Now it’s Sam’s turn to feel out of place: his discomfort reaches hilarious peaks\, especially in a cringe-worthy sushi restaurant scene. In the end\, both must admit there’s no definitive “better” when two vastly different worlds collide.

SUMMARY:Spring Theatre Production - Neil Simon's Rumors
DESCRIPTION:The Hannibal-LaGrange University Theatre Department is pleased to announce its spring production of Rumors\, a fast-paced and wildly entertaining farce by acclaimed playwright Neil Simon. Performances will take place at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday\, April 16 through Saturday\, April 18. \nThis hilarious comedy unfolds as several well to do couples arrive at a beautifully appointed suburban home to celebrate their friends’ tenth wedding anniversary. Upon arrival\, they are met with a series of alarming and absurd discoveries: the domestic staff is nowhere to be found\, the hostess has mysteriously vanished\, and the host\, who happens to be the deputy mayor of New York City\, has suffered a minor gunshot wound to his earlobe. \nAs panic sets in\, the guests scramble to protect their reputations by keeping the evening’s incidents hidden from both the police and the press\, leading to a cascade of misunderstandings\, quick-thinking cover-ups\, and comedic chaos. \nMore information about tickets and pricing will be released soon. \nFor additional details about Rumors or any upcoming HLGU theatre productions\, please contact the HLGU Theatre Box Office at (573) 629-3182 or boxoffice@hlg.edu
