DESCRIPTION:A collection of work from artist Todd Damotte exploring the visualization of the holiness and glory of God. He will tag his artwork with three dots (an ellipsis) to represent Isaiah’s vision of the Lord on his throne while seraphim circled Him crying out– \n“Holy\, holy\, holy is the Lord Almighty; the whole earth is full of his glory.” \nTodd is a multidisciplinary artist creating art that is inspired by and helps express his faith as a Christian. He is the Marketing coordinator and teaches graphic design at HLGU. \nA gallery reception will be held February 3 at 4-7 p.m. in the Hagerman Gallery of the Roland Fine Arts Center at HLGU. There will be food\, fellowship\, and live art at the reception.

DESCRIPTION:Hannibal-LaGrange University announces The Night of Worship\, headlined by speaker Shane Pruitt\, on Wednesday\, February 22 at 7 p.m. in the Parker Theatre of the Roland Fine Arts Center. \nThe Night of Worship is a free event for anyone who would like to come worship at HLGU. It is a part of HLGU’s Spiritual Emphasis Week\, which includes two days of chapel and a day of prayer. HLGU invites community members\, churches\, and youth groups to attend this spirit-filled evening. \nShane Pruitt serves as the National Next Gen Director for the North American Mission Board (NAMB). Shane has written two books\, 9 Common Lies Christians Believe: And Why God’s Truth is Infinitely Better and Calling Out the Called: Discipling Those Called to Ministry Leadership. \n“We are grateful to have Shane Pruitt on campus during the HLGU Spiritual Emphasis Week\,” said Director of Campus Ministry and \n \nMissions Titus Vester. “God has used Shane to reach over 100\,000 people each year with the good news of Jesus. DESCRIPTION:Hannibal-LaGrange University will welcome Dr. Tawni Ferrarini as guest speaker on Thursday\, March 23 at 7:00 p.m. in the L.A. Foster Student Center on campus. \nThis event is part of the Free Society Speaker Series that HLGU hosts in partnership with the Moorman Foundation. \nFerrarini specializes in expanding the reach of sound economic education regionally\, nationally\, and internationally. Since 2017\, Ferrarini has been the Robert W. Plaster Professor of Economic Education at Lindenwood University. She is a member of the economics faculty in the Plaster School of Business and Entrepreneurship\, while also serving as a senior research fellow in the Hammond Institute for Free Enterprise. The mission of the Hammond Institute parallels free society principles promoted by Free Society programming at HLGU. \nFerrarini works with the School of Education\, creating training programs for educators to teach economics and financial literacy. In addition to a plethora of accolades\, Ferrarini has also co-authored several books\, including Common Sense Economics: What Everyone Should Know About Wealth and Prosperity\, which has been used in business classes at Hannibal-LaGrange University. \n“Dr. Ferrarini’s visit to campus is an awesome opportunity for HLGU students to be immersed in free society principles presented by an esteemed professor\,” says Dr. Jonathan Walker\, Assistant Professor of Business Education at HLGU. “Dr. Ferrarini’s professional expertise and abundance of relevant experience in education and economics makes her an ideal Free Society speaker.” \nDuring her visit to HLGU\, Dr. Ferrarini will discuss “Markets vs. Government: Why Differences Matter.” The event is free and open to the public. \nFor more information about the Free Society Speaker Series at HLGU\, email FreeSociety@hlg.edu.

DESCRIPTION:Hannibal-LaGrange University announced its third annual HLGU Day of Giving will happen in April 2023. \nThe Day of Giving will run for the 24-hour period between noon on April 20 and noon on April 21\, 2023. HLGU has set a goal of 250 new gifts to the University in this 24-hour timeframe. \n“Your gift\, combined with those of hundreds of other HLGU Day of Giving donors\, will not only help to make scholarships or projects become realities but also have a direct impact on the lives of current and future students\,” said Director of Development and Alumni Services Lauren Youse. “By joining together with the greater HLGU family during this special event\, you’re demonstrating your commitment to the University and the Christian community that sets us apart.” \nMore information will be released via HLGU’s social media pages on Facebook\, Twitter\, and Instagram in the coming months. Those who want to spread the word about HLGU’s Day of Giving can do so by using #HLGUDayOfGiving in their social media posts. \nGifts received as a part of the Day of Giving may be designated toward HLGU student scholarships\, Friends of the Arts\, HLGU’s fine arts giving club\, or any other HLGU department or program. \nDuring last year’s Day of Giving\, 345 gifts were given raising $227\,815. \n“I am thankful for the way that God worked in people’s lives in supporting our Day of Giving\,” said Vice President for Institutional Advancement Dr. Ray Carty. “The number of individual donors significantly surpassed our goal. The amount of financial support that was expressed was amazing and encouraging. DESCRIPTION:Hannibal-LaGrange University will host a 2-round doubles disc golf tournament in conjunction with its Day of Giving this spring. \nThe event will be held on Saturday\, April 22 at HLGU’s newest disc golf course on campus\, The Colosseum. The course is laid out back in the woods around the walking trails behind the Administration Building. The 27-hole course is currently being built and will feature 18 holes for the tournament. \nA player’s meeting will be held the morning of the tournament at 8 a.m. in the The Loft\, on the second floor of the Student Center. The first round of the event will begin at 9 a.m. with the second round starting around 1 p.m. Two-person teams can sign up together for $50 while HLGU student and/or alumni teams can sign up for $40. \nRegister for the event by clicking this link. You can also find out more about the HLGU disc golf course by going to the UDisc app and searching The Colosseum. \nAll proceeds from this event will go towards the construction of the new course. DESCRIPTION:Hannibal-LaGrange University will hold the 2nd Annual Scarlet and Blue Auction on Friday\, May 19\, in the Roland Fine Arts Center. \nDoors for the event will open at 5:30 p.m. at which time the silent auction will begin. At 7 p.m.\, the silent auction will end and the live auction will begin. Heavy appetizers will be served. \nAll proceeds from the Scarlet and Blue Auction will go toward HLGU’s annual fund. \nThe institutional advancement office is looking for additional auction items. If you would like to donate an item for the auction fundraiser\, please contact Alumni Director Lauren Youse at lauren.youse@hlg.edu\, or 573-629-3126.
