Callers will be reaching out to both HLGU alumni and previous donors to the institution.\n \nThis year’s Phonathon needs volunteers who love HLGU and would like to help make a difference in the lives of HLGU students. All volunteers will be provided with a script and phones for the event\, as well as some snacks. SUMMARY:HLGU Disc Golf Glow Tournament
DESCRIPTION:Hannibal-LaGrange University will host a two-round disc golf tournament in conjunction with its 2022 HLGU Day of Giving initiative. \nThe event will be held on April 21\, 2022 on HLGU’s new disc golf course on campus behind the Roland Library. The first round of the event will start at 5 pm\, followed by a glow round with lighted discs and baskets at 8 pm. \nTwo-person teams can sign up for $50\, while HLGU student teams can sign up for $30. LED lights for the glow round are available for an additional $1 per light\, or participants may supply their own lights or glow tape. \nBetween rounds\, pizza by the slice will be for sale. \nRegister for the event by clicking here. \nInformation about HLGU’s disc golf course can be found by going to UDisc.com and searching Hannibal-LaGrange University. \nAll proceeds from this event will go toward HLGU’s annual Day of Giving. The day runs from noon on April 21 until noon on April 22. Friends\, alumni\, students\, faculty\, and staff are all encouraged to give back to HLGU. The University has set a goal of 250 new gifts in this 24-hour timeframe. \nThe new HLGU disc golf course was a direct result of last year’s Day of Giving. DESCRIPTION:Hannibal-LaGrange University will hold the Scarlet and Blue Auction on Friday\, May 20\, in the Roland Fine Arts Center. \nDoors for the event will open at 5:30 pm when a silent auction will begin. At 7 pm\, the silent auction will end and the live auction will begin. Heavy appetizers will be served. \nAdmission for the event is $10 per person. Tickets can be purchased in advance at hlguscarletandblueauction.eventbrite.com. Tickets are also available for purchase in the HLGU Institutional Advancement office in the Burt Administration. Visit in person\, call 573-629-3124\, or email giving@hlg.edu. \nItems available for bidding include a variety of things donated by HLGU faculty\, staff\, alumni\, and area businesses. The auction will also include a few HLG memorabilia pieces. \nAll proceeds from the Scarlet and Blue Auction will go toward HLGU’s current financial crisis to help the University pay off or avoid any additional debt. \nThe institutional advancement office is looking for additional auction items. If you would like to donate an item for the auction fundraiser\, please contact Alumni Director Lauren Youse at lauren.youse@hlg.edu\, or 573-629-3126\, by April 12. Anyone who donates an item will receive two free auction tickets (a $20 value).

DESCRIPTION:Hannibal-LaGrange University will celebrate Constitution Day with Missouri House Representative Dr. Doug Richey\, on Monday\, September 19 at 11 a.m. in the Roland Fine Arts Center. \nThis Constitution Day event is in partnership with the Moorman Foundation as part of the Free Society Speaker Series at HLGU. Hannibal-LaGrange University has long been an advocate of the principles of a free and virtuous society. \n“I am both excited and honored to have Doug Richey speak on campus for our Constitution Day event\,” says Dr. Eric Turner\, Chair of Arts and Humanities Division at HLGU. “Doug is a perfect fit as he embodies both a pastor’s heart and a sharp\, scholarly mind with respect to the political landscape in Missouri.” \nDr. Doug Richey was elected to his first two-year term in the Missouri House of Representatives in 2018. In addition to serving as a State Representative\, he is also a law enforcement chaplain\, adjunct professor\, and the senior pastor at Pisgah Baptist Church. Richey earned his undergraduate degree at the University of Central Missouri and then went on to earn three master’s degrees and a doctorate from the Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He spent eight years in the Missouri Army National Guard as a combat engineer and has served as president for several alumni organizations and local boards. \n“I am eagerly anticipating the connections Doug will make for our students\, staff\, and faculty between our Christian faith and faithful stewardship of our constitutional responsibilities\,” Turner says. \nFor more information about Constitution Day at HLGU\, email FreeSociety@hlg.edu. After committing herself to a new life as a rider in the Great Races of Rynar\, Inesca embarks on a perilous journey to reclaim the truth about her father’s past. Her choices lead her to navigate a dangerous world of covetous lords and elusive mercenaries with only a few clues to guide her. DESCRIPTION:In honor of the 40th year of preparing teachers for certification\, the HLGU Education Division\, in collaboration with past professors and graduates\, is planning a special HLGU Teacher Education Celebration for the weekend of October 7-8\, 2022. This exciting event will allow education graduates to visit Hannibal\, participate in a variety of events\, tour campus\, and reconnect with friends and professors. \nA directory will be compiled to provide current information about your HLGU friends and professors. Whether an alum can attend the reunion or not\, please submit your online form by October 1. The form is located at by clicking this link. Everyone who submits information with an email address will be sent an online directory following the reunion. \nOn Friday\, October 7\, at 7 p.m.\, a free Team Trivia competition will be held in the Roland Fine Arts Center Lobby. Create a team of eight or fewer players and take on other teams for glory and prizes. Snacks and trivia mulligans will be available for purchase as a fundraiser for S-MSTA.
