DESCRIPTION:Trojan Days\nTrojan Day is designed to give you a sample of what HLGU has to offer.  We’ve planned this day with you and your family in mind. We want you to have time to explore campus\, meet current students\, talk with faculty members\, attend a class\, and eat lunch in the cafeteria.  This day is full of great experiences that will help you see yourself as a Trojan at Hannibal-LaGrange University! \nTrojan Day Schedule: \n8:30 – Check In (Roland Fine Arts Center) \n9:00 – Opening Session \n*Welcome \n*Hear from our President \n9:30 – Current Student Panel Q&A \n10:00 – Campus Tour \n11:00 – Academic Fair \n*Meet faculty and learn more about the programs offered at HLGU \n12:00 – Lunch on Campus \n1:00 – Students – Attend a class \nParents – Attend a panel discussion with HLGU Administrators \n2:00 – Closing Session with your Admissions Counselor \n2:30 – Optional Activities \n*Athletic Sessions and Tryouts (by appointment and arranged through coaches) \n*Fine Arts Session – portfolio review\, theater audition\, or music audition (by appointment and arranged with Fine Arts Faculty) \n  \nClick here to register for Trojan Day!\nAthletic Tryouts and Fine Arts Auditions\nAthletic tryouts are scheduled during campus visit days. Other tryout dates can be made by appointment. Auditions for HLGU’s ministry teams\, The New Edition\, Praise Song\, and Chamber Choir\, along with music\, art\, and theatre major scholarships will be held at the conclusion of each campus visit day. DESCRIPTION:The Founder’s Scholarship program at HLGU recognizes outstanding academic performance\, proven leadership\, and the pursuit of academic excellence. Entering freshmen who meet the criteria and apply will be eligible to compete for this\, the highest academic scholarship at HLGU. \nThe Founder’s Scholarship competition will be held on February 23\, 2024. Students will be selected to attend the competition weekend based on their submitted application and essay.  Please contact the Office of Undergraduate Admissions at 573-629-3264 with any questions. \nFounder’s Scholarship Application Requirements \n\nApplication for Admission\nAdmitted to the University\nOne of the following\n\nACT of at least 27\nSAT of at least 1250\nCLT of at least 84\n\n\nApplication for Founder’s Scholarship\nLetter of Recommendation from a School Teacher/Counselor attesting to your academic accomplishments or a Pastor/Youth Pastor attesting to your spiritual commitment and leadership.\n500 – 1\,000 word essay addressing one of the following topics:\n\nDescribe a time where you demonstrated leadership ability\, in or out of school. Describe the situation\, what was needed\, how you stepped up\, what you did\, and what the outcome was.\nWho you are is closely tied to who you’ve been around. Pick a person from your own life who has had an influence on you.  Who is that person\, what have they done to influence you\, and how is your life different because of that person?\nIdentify a problem in our world today you think will have a significant impact on your chosen vocation. Describe some leadership qualities you possess that will help you respond to that problem and have a positive impact on that professional field.\n\n\n\nStudents must be admitted to the University and submit all required documents by January 31\, 2024.  The Founder’s Scholarship Application and required documents are submitted online. \nFounder’s Scholarship Competition \nQualifying candidates will participate in an interview with a panel of HLGU representatives. Interviews will be held February 23. Founder’s Scholarship Candidates will also be invited to join HLGU faculty and staff for a special dinner on February 23.
