Cheryl Stuckman, BSN, RN

Instructor of Nursing - PN

Cheryl has been a nurse for 12 years. She is a medical-surgical nurse and continues to work as needed one day a week at Blessing Hospital. She has many years of experience as a nurse preceptor and charge nurse on the Medical/Surgical Units with a strong background in Orthopedic and Neurology Medical Surgical.

Teaching seemed like a natural transition for her when she found a position at Hannibal-LaGrange University. The first day of teaching Pharmacology in the classroom, she felt a strong supernatural sense of belonging.

“God has been preparing me to teach through much of my nursing career and He continues to guide me on this journey as I have recently started my Master’s Degree in Nurse Education coursework.  One of the many qualities that I love about HLGU is that the focus is truly on the student.  We, collectively, strive for the best student learning experience and more importantly we keep Jesus Christ at the forefront of all the work we do in and out of the classroom.  It is a blessing to work in a Christian environment and to share the message of how nursing as a profession is truly a calling by Christ to care and nurture others.”
