Michael Chlebanowski

Associate Professor of Art

“I believe teaching is my calling,” said Michael Chlebanowski, who has taught in HLGU’s Art Department since 2006. Although he has professional experience as a graphic designer, illustrator, and business owner, Chlebanowski says he is most fulfilled as a university professor. Outside of the classroom, he continues to exhibit his art, both painting and photography.

The Chlebanowskis moved to Hannibal from the Chicago, IL area where they met in high school, got married, and had children (they have three daughters and eight grandchildren). While there, Michael felt a strong calling to become a university professor in art, earning his MFA in studio art from Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, IL.
