Hannibal-LaGrange University has been recognized for its focus on missions, which is facilitated through the many opportunities offered its students, faculty, and staff to participate in missions, both locally and abroad. Various trips are taken throughout the year, but the vast majority of these take place during spring break and over the summer months.
Places visited in recent years include Chicago, Illinois, St. Louis, Missouri, Detroit, Michigan, Portland, Oregon, Panama City Beach, Florida, Southeast Asia, the Dominican Republic, Switzerland, Lebanon and China. We are excited that our faculty and staff have stepped up to lead students in these life-changing experiences!
While we hope to send dozens of students on mission into our “Judea, Samaria and beyond,” we are also remaining faithful to our calling here on campus and in Hannibal where we not only seek to win the lost but to bring believers into a more mature and strong faith in Christ.
From the moment students step foot on the campus, they notice a difference. It is not beyond the friendly reception and the overpowering force of helpers that get them settled. It goes even beyond the fellow students, staff and faculty they meet in the following days. Hannibal-LaGrange University’s uniqueness is founded in her calling to train students to be servants. Our motto, “Scientia ad servendum” or “knowledge for service” states quite plainly our counter-culture approach to secondary education.
HLGU desires to build Christ’s Kingdom and insists that His worldview be the reality that permeates all we do, including our teaching content, our student activities, and our environment. For us, Christ is Lord over all, and that includes universities in postmodern America! Thank you for your support in this endeavor!
