SUMMARY:HLGU Disc Golf Glow Tournament
DESCRIPTION:Hannibal-LaGrange University will host a two-round disc golf tournament in conjunction with its 2022 HLGU Day of Giving initiative. \nThe event will be held on April 21\, 2022 on HLGU’s new disc golf course on campus behind the Roland Library. The first round of the event will start at 5 pm\, followed by a glow round with lighted discs and baskets at 8 pm. \nTwo-person teams can sign up for $50\, while HLGU student teams can sign up for $30. LED lights for the glow round are available for an additional $1 per light\, or participants may supply their own lights or glow tape. \nBetween rounds\, pizza by the slice will be for sale. \nRegister for the event by clicking here. \nInformation about HLGU’s disc golf course can be found by going to UDisc.com and searching Hannibal-LaGrange University. \nAll proceeds from this event will go toward HLGU’s annual Day of Giving. The day runs from noon on April 21 until noon on April 22. Friends\, alumni\, students\, faculty\, and staff are all encouraged to give back to HLGU. The University has set a goal of 250 new gifts in this 24-hour timeframe. \nThe new HLGU disc golf course was a direct result of last year’s Day of Giving. DESCRIPTION:Hannibal-LaGrange University will hold its annual Arbor Day celebration on Friday\, April 30\, at 10 a.m. just behind the Roland Library. HLGU has been named a Tree Campus Higher Education institution for 2020\, the eighth year in a row that HLGU has earned this designation. \nAt this celebration\, HLGU will be honoring Robert O. and the late Burlene Parker\, Betty Jo Cunningham Takahashi ’59\, and Al Stubbings by planting trees and installing benches in the area. \n“We are pleased to again be named a Tree Campus Higher Education institution\,” said HLGU president Dr. Anthony Allen. “This designation reflects our desire to have an attractive campus that has representative species of every tree indigenous to northeast Missouri. Our continued efforts to beautify our campus is an investment in the future\, and represents our commitment to help provide a healthy environment for our community.” \nTree Campus Higher Education is a national program created in 2008 by the Arbor Day Foundation to honor colleges and universities for effective campus forest management and to engage staff and students in conservation goals.
