Hannibal-LaGrange University will host a weekend ladies conference for all ages with a concentrated focus of ministering to high school students on Friday, February 12, from 5:30 to 9:30 pm, and on Saturday, February 13, from 9:30 am to 5 pm.
Titled “Outlove 2016” the conference is centered on the idea that in today’s fast-paced society it is easier to choose competition over compassion.
Stacy Allen, coordinator of the event, commented, “Outdoing others in ways that are of little importance leaves little time to outlove each other in meaningful ways which matter most.”
Speakers for the conference include Stacy Allen, Rhonda Rhea, Pamela Avery for the larger group settings, and several other ministry leaders for smaller conversational group settings. While some leaders will provide key insight for ministering specifically to high school students, others will address a more systematic and comprehensive approach for cross-generational ministry within the church and community.
Outlove sessions will address personal time with the Lord, one-on-one discipleship, and small group studies. As an individual or in a group, participants will be encouraged to practically apply what is being taught through personal or group devotion throughout the weekend event.
Rhonda Rhea, humor columnist, keynote speaker, wife, mom, and author has many TV appearances and interviews on Focus on the Family’s Weekend Magazine radio show. She is the author of 10 books, including “Espresso Your Faith: 30 Shots of God’s Word to Keep You Focused on Christ” and “High Heels and High Places”. With much wit and wisdom, Rhonda will guide ladies through the Outlove 2016 cross-generational women’s event celebrating a targeted ministry to high school and college students.
Pamela Avery serves as the women’s ministry director for a multi-ethnic non-profit mission organization. Pamela motivates others to maximize efforts in all stages of life. Formerly, under her leadership as the director of women’s ministry at a Christian university for seven years, students were trained to study biblical truth and practically apply it through a myriad of counseling issues. With a heart for discipleship and mentoring, Pamela also faithfully equipped students to lead college traveling ministry teams to share a deep love for studying and teaching God’s Word.
