As you embark on this new adventure called college, we at Hannibal-LaGrange University want you to feel comfortable and at home in your surroundings.
New Student Orientation (NSO) is designed to encourage and help you learn what it means to be a Trojan, develop a strong sense of school spirit, understand the academic and social expectations of college, and to simply have some fun before classes begin! HLGU has a rich heritage and we are excited that you are among the newest members of our family. So, get in there and get involved and see just what HLGU has to offer you!
During NSO you discover new friends and become a part of the wonderful HLGU family. You will build relationships with peers, faculty members, and HLGU staff. And during all of the fun activities and meetings, you will learn your way around campus, and find out about various HLGU facilities, resources, and services. The NSO schedule keeps new HLGU students busy and engaged in fun activities designed especially for them.
Finally, we want your parents and relatives to better understand the process of this transition and the University’s commitment to them and to you! While orientation is geared towards new students, we also welcome parents to the HLGU family.
Every new student enrolled for the fall semester is automatically enrolled in orientation. The non-refundable fee for orientation is $65 for students and will automatically be added to your HLGU account balance. This fee includes a t-shirt, school gift and meals for four days. Together we will survive New Student Orientation!
The mission of HLGU’s New Student Orientation is to provide programs to new students and their families to assist in the transition process. This process facilitates the student’s transition academically, socially, and culturally to the campus climate.
