As you begin college, we at Hannibal-LaGrange University want you to feel comfortable and at home in your surroundings.

New Student Orientation (NSO) is designed to encourage and help you learn what it means to be a Trojan, develop a strong sense of school spirit, understand the academic and social expectations of college, and to simply have some fun before classes begin! HLGU has a rich heritage and we are excited that you are among the newest members of our family.

During NSO you will have the opportunity to meet your peers, faculty members, and HLGU staff. In addition you will find your way around campus and learn about the facilities, resources and service that HLGU has to offer.

We want your parents and relatives to better understand the process of this transition and the University’s commitment to them and to you! While orientation is geared towards new students, we also welcome parents to the HLGU family.

Every new residential student enrolled for the fall semester is automatically enrolled in orientation. During NSO you will receive a NSO themed T-shirt, a care package, and all meals will be covered by HLGU.

The mission of HLGU’s New Student Orientation is to provide programs to new students and their families to assist in the transition process. This process facilitates the student’s transition academically, socially, and culturally to the campus climate.
