Sally Poole Kintz to exhibit new typographic digital painting series

Hannibal-LaGrange University and the Hagerman Gallery are pleased to announce the upcoming exhibit of Sally Poole Kintz new series of digital art work on display in the Hagerman Gallery. Each painting on display can be seen from start to finish on YouTube links provided at the exhibit.

This new digital painting series has never been exhibited as a whole. One piece was selected to tour with Missouri Art Now: A Bicentennial Exhibition, which toured around the state in 2020-21.

“My work is based on recent studies of historic and contemporary artists who incorporate typography and writing into their art,” explains Kintz. “One of my inspirations is Cecil Touchon. He builds beautiful pieces of art from pieces of billboards.”

Kintz has taken bits and pieces of work from Touchon, William Klein, and Stuart Davis and merged them into her digital paintings, which are part of her master’s degree research.

The opening reception of the exhibit will be at Monday, October 25 at 6 p.m. in the Roland Fine Arts Center lobby.

The show will open on Monday evening October 25 and run through November 23. The Hagerman Gallery is located inside the Roland Fine Arts Center on the campus of Hannibal LaGrange University. The hours Monday through Friday are 8 a.m. – 8 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 3 p.m. – 8 p.m.
