HLGU Communication Students Win Multiple Awards

Hannibal, MOThe Baptist Communicators Association Student Awards Competitionhappened on Thursday, October 12 through a virtual awards ceremony. According to BCA website, “The competition is designed to encourage professional excellence among association members and to recognize those members who have done exemplary work.All entries in the competition must have been produced or published from January 2022 through May 2023.

A record-setting 98 entries were submitted by students from six Baptist universities in this year’s BCA Student Awards Competition. The schools included Samford University, Union University, Baylor University, California Baptist University, University of Mobile, and Hannibal-LaGrange University. Twenty BCA members volunteered their time to serve as judges across seven divisions, assessing each entry carefully and providing valuable and constructive feedback to each student.

After submitting 3 of her student’s pieces, Mrs. Christy Jung, Assistant Professor of Communication Studies, all 3 of the pieces were chosen as winner’s during the competition. They each won first place in their respective category. This was the first time that any work from an HLGU student was submitted.
