POSITION SUMMARY:
The International Student Coordinator is responsible to the Vice President for Enrollment Management, Marketing, and Student Life. The position is part-time and does not offer benefits, as specified in the handbook.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Keeps up to date SEVIS records for all international students, produces I-20’s, and ensures the institution functions under federal regulations for international students.
• Conducts entrance and exit exams for all international students that do not have an official TOEFL score.
• Assist students with common needs such as obtaining a Social Security Number, bank account, etc.
• Oversees and trains staff members and students participating in the Get2Work program.
• Meets with all international students one on one to ensure renewal scholarship terms are clear.
• Conducts unofficial, pre-admission evaluation of athletic eligibility for international student applicants.
• Monitors student academic progress and stays current on international Student goals, such as Associate Degree, Transferring, etc.
• Ensures International Student section of the website is kept up to date.
• Reports to retention office on accurate retention statistics for all international students.
• Produces recommendations to the Academic Office regarding structure of the ESL Program.
• Ensures that all inquiries made by international student applicants are answered in a timely manner to ensure a continuation of international student population body.
• Communicates with the Athletic Department in an effective way to ensure coaches are well informed on the scholarship possibilities, guidelines, and limitations regarding international student admission.
• Keeps all copies of all admissions documentation for each student in addition to creating official folders with original documents for the Registrar’s Office.
• Functions as an extension of the Registrar Office in assisting during the process of transcript evaluation.
• Contributes to disciplinary Committee and administrative committees as needed.
• Produces content required to publish PR press releases as needed.
• Works with the Student Life Office to coordinate airport trips for arrival/departures.
• Assists students in applying for government work programs such as OPT and CPT.
• Helps international students with academic, travel, and personal needs as appropriate.
• Works with the Student Life Office to maintain Host Home Program

• Working relationships include students, faculty, administrators, staff, and individuals outside of the institution with whom international relationships occur.

• Knowledge of university mission, programs, and practices.
• Must be a self-starter possessing organizational skills.
• Must have values consistent with the mission and purpose of Hannibal-LaGrange University.
• Must agree to, sign off on, and abide by the standards of employment on the back of the application, on the yearly contract, and in the staff handbook.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND TRAINING
• Graduate degree preferred.
• Five years of experience in a related field preferred.
