Joni Fusselman, M.Ed.

Adjunct Professor of Education

My name is Joni Fusselman and I am happy to instruct at HLGU. I currently teach full time in a preschool classroom at Highland Elementary School in Ewing, MO. I also have nine years’ experience teaching first grade and six years as a full time college instructor. However, I love teaching in a preschool classroom and sharing my love for learning with these little learners!

Along with earning my bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education, I am also certified in middle school social studies. I earned my master’s degree in Curriculum & Instruction with an emphasis on Reading Instruction from Mizzou.

I have completed my coursework for my doctoral degree in Reading/Language & Literacy and will soon begin to work on my dissertation.

I am married with four children (and one SIL): Brandon, Madison, Miles, Taylor and her husband, Andrew. We also have two grandchildren: David and Arizona. I spend a lot of time with my family and love to talk about them and Jesus. On Sunday mornings, you can find me at Hester Community Church where I’m active in our children’s church program and teach the K-2nd grade Sunday School Class. Along with my human family, I have a silver lab named Linus and a cat named Marcie.
