Tina Seago

Adjunct Professor of Education

I have an extensive background in special education and reading, math, and science with the Hannibal Public Schools.

I taught special services for 17 years, 7 years in the regular education classroom, and my last 6 years I finished as the Elementary District Librarian. I currently work part-time for the Quincy Public Schools, writing IEP’s! I have a case load of around 70 that I work on through the course of the year all while teaching some of the special service teachers how to write an IEP and all the components that go with this legal document. I loved every aspect of my teaching career but working with special education students was by far my favorite.

My favorite conversation with my new principal one year was when she came in to observe me and she said, “Are you teaching reading or science right now?” How cool is that!! Reading can be embedded into every subject, and it just so happened on that day she saw it in real time. I will never forget that moment.

I just had a former student reach out to me because she didn’t feel like she had enough support to write effective IEP’s for her students. I am here to be a continuous help during your educational career. I also had one student teacher use me as a reference for a new job they were interviewing for. I am in this for the duration that you individually need me.
