Hillary Mayberry, MSC

Instructor of Teacher Education

Hillary Mayberry was born and raised in Puxico, MO, in a family of educators, which sparked her passion for learning early on. She enjoyed playing sports and exploring the outdoors, and I always looked forward to school.

While pursuing her bachelor’s at Southeast Missouri State University, she worked at Southeast Hospital, was involved at her church, and met her husband. After graduating, Hillary began her teaching career as a 4th-grade teacher at Puxico Elementary where she taught for two years before transitioning into school counseling.

She eventually obtained her certification for IQ testing, which eventually led her to pursue a Specialist Degree in School Counseling.

Since 2017, she had been an adjunct instructor at Hannibal-LaGrange University. She is now working toward a license in community counseling (LPC) and feels that God is leading her to explore Christian counseling in the future while continuing to work in public education.

Outside of the classroom, Hillary is the proud mom of two children, Lydia and Kingston.

She also has two dogs that keep life fun and lively! Her hobbies include painting (mostly furniture and walls, not abstract art) and spending time with my family and church community. In her downtime, she enjoys watching true crime shows or movies.
