Position Title: Accounts Payable Clerk

POSITION SUMMARY
The Accounts Payable Clerk reports to the Controller and Dean of Business. The position is full-time for 12 months a year and offers benefits as outlined in the Employee Handbook. Employee must possess a vibrant, personal Christian faith including a clear testimony of Christian conversion and be actively involved in an evangelical, preferably Southern Baptist, church.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Process purchase order and request of payments in a timely and efficient manner.
- Reconcile purchase order and request of payments and invoices from vendors.
- Process payments due by the university.
- Keep files on vendors current and easily accessible, specifically for audit.
- Reconcile payables at the end of each month.
- Colleague/Self-Service support for electronic purchase order and request of payments.
- Work with the auditors at the end of the fiscal year.
- Take student payments and issue receipts for student accounts.
- Look up student accounts and print bills.
- Cross-train in other areas of the business office.
- Assist other business office staff as needed.
- Prepare journal entries for endowment, investment funds, and life insurance policies.
- Other duties as assigned by the Dean of Business or the Controller.
DEPARTMENTAL RELATIONSHIPS
- Work with faculty and staff concerning invoices and account balances.

- Must be attentive to detail.
- Must have good interpersonal skills.
- Must have values consistent with the mission and purpose of Hannibal-LaGrange University.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND TRAINING
- Associate or Bachelor degree in Business or Accounting preferred.
- 1 – 2 years of experience preferred if no degree.
- Must have working knowledge of computers including Microsoft Word and Excel.
