Enrollment Open for HLGU’s LPN-RN and RN to BSN Programs

by Rebecca Sneed

Qualified individuals can now enroll for spring 2016 courses in HLGU’s accredited LPN-RN and RN to BSN programs.

Career advancement opens the doors for job opportunities and growth, and now is the time to continue education in healthcare. According the Bureau of Labor Statistics, “Healthcare will generate 3.2 million new wage and salary jobs between 2008 and 2018, more than any other industry, largely in response to the rapid growth in the elderly population.”

The LPN-RN program offers advanced placement to students who hold a license in practical nursing. These qualified individuals can earn their Associate of Science in Nursing degree and become registered nurses in just 18 months.

HLGU’s RN to BSN program is fully online and is designed for registered nurses who have earned an Associate of Science in Nursing or a diploma in nursing. Formatted to provide a solid base in liberal arts education courses as the cornerstone of the practice, these upper-division nursing courses include topics such as leadership, quality care, patient safety, evidence-based practice, information management, healthcare policy, finance and regulatory environments, collaboration, health promotion and prevention, professionalism, and Christian values to prepare the student as a generalist baccalaureate nurse. Student learning in the program culminates with a practicum experience, typically at the student’s own place of employment.

A Hannibal-LaGrange education provides professional knowledge and experience to succeed in the workplace, but also carries a foundation of compassion, integrity, and Christian perspective.

HLGU’s ASN program is accredited by the ACEN, and the BSN program is CCNE accredited. For more information, contact Megan Shadrick, nursing admissions coordinator, at 573-629-3141, or via email at megan.shadrick@hlg.edu.
