Benjamin Strother, PhD
Business Instructor

Dr. Benjamin Strother is a 2009 alum of Hannibal LaGrange University and currently an adjunct instructor of business finance. He has been an active member of the business faculty at Hannibal LaGrange University for now nine years. He served as head baseball coach from 2015-2022 and is currently a financial advisor at Benson Financial Group. He has taught business and personal finance at the high school and college levels, and currently serves as a deacon of finance at Believers Church in Hannibal. He does financial counseling for members of the community in need through his role in the local church and the United Way. Ben is married to Janelle, they live in the country just north of town with their 3 kids – Elijah, Jetta, and Abram.
He received his PhD in Personal Financial Planning from Kansas State University in 2020, his Master's in Education from William Woods (2011) and his bachelor’s from Hannibal LaGrange University (2009).
Ben loves sports, including but not limited to baseball, frisbee, cycling, and running. He is often found jogging the trails behind HLG and spends a fair amount of time remodeling their home.
