Tina Mapes, MBA
Business Instructor

Tina Mapes is an adjunct instructor for Business courses at HLGU. She attended HLG and obtained her bachelor’s degree in psychology while she was working at a local bank. She then started working retail and quickly worked her way up to management. She worked in that position for years, while having 3 kids during that time. Eventually, Tina decided to take a break from work while the kids were young and started her own cake decorating business. When it was time to return to the work force, she decided to go to a credit union to pursue a passion in finance. She worked her way up to management and got her MBA from Liberty University.
Tina enjoyed the education side of the credit union and wanted to help people on a bigger scale, so she decided to become a Financial Advisor and obtained her series 7 and 66 and got her insurance license. She worked for a big wire house that re-located her family back to St. Louis to start a new branch, where she obtained her securities supervisor licenses. She then left that company and joined a partnership for another big company to help Financial Advisors grow and excel their businesses. Tina is currently still with the partnership, building strategies in wealth management for Financial Advisors.
During her free time, Tina enjoys being outside. She loves dragging her husband along walks and exploring new areas and paths! She is a mom of 3 teenage girls and a little yorkie named Lyla, and a stepmom to a boy and girl. Tina volunteers as the cake decorating instructor for her local 4-H club and travels all over Missouri during the summer months. Tina has a deep passion in helping others through education in the world of finance and is excited to be able to teach in both a full time career and in higher education courses.
