Position Title: Admissions Counselor for Online Programs (On Campus Position)

POSITION SUMMARY
The Admissions Representative is responsible to the Vice President for Enrollment Management. The position is full-time and offers benefits as specified in the staff handbook. The Online/Graduate Admissions Counselor represents the University in the recruitment and attraction of students to enrollment. They will journey with prospective students through the discernment and application process for HLGU graduate and online programs and share their expertise of academic programs to guide students from inquiry to enrollment.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Counsel prospective students in the areas of admissions procedures and policies, financial aid procedures, academic programs, and career opportunities. Answer questions prospective students and families may have about the University and/or connect them with the appropriate offices on campus. This may be in person, on the telephone, or written communication.
- Creating and/or maintaining prospective candidate records and manage general email inbox inquiries. Processing leads and applications from web forms.
- Establish and maintain a dynamic, cooperative relationship with program directors and faculty in areas of assigned programs.
- Find creative ways to proactively recruit students such as hosting campus events or conferences and delivering presentations in various settings. Research new venues and assess the effectiveness of attending conferences, shows, and fairs.
- Contribute to the setting of recruitment and enrollment goals.
- Manage communication with prospective graduate and online students on a consistent basis and throughout the enrollment cycle.
- Guide students through gathering the necessary application information and materials and troubleshoot issues.
- Meticulously review applications, organize additional application materials, review file documentation for missing or erroneous information, and process applications.
- Work with the Marketing team to design and implement a proactive email/SMS communication and tele recruiting strategy, including writing copy, managing prospective students contact database, and responding to student inquiries.
- Communicate effectively and courteously with others, including employees, students, and the public, in a spirit of teamwork, respect and customer service.
DEPARTMENTAL RELATIONSHIPS
- Admissions representatives work directly with the Office of Records/Registrar, Office of Financial Aid, Office of Student Development, Office of Computer Services, and Academic Departments. The Admissions Representative has contact with all campus entities.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND TRAINING
- Must hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Preference will be given to Hannibal-LaGrange University graduates.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
