What Will You Study?

Students pursuing a Master of Arts in Leadership will learn the fundamentals leadership theory and practice, including organizational and change leadership. Students will study the leadership structure of non-profits and the principles of ethical and biblical leadership.

Business Administration Track: Students will focus on developing as a leader, studying organizational behavior and emotional intelligence, executive communication, and strategic planning. Students will also study the legal issues often encountered in business leadership, managerial finance, and human resource management.

Christian Studies Track: Students will focus on biblical leadership principles and styles, analyzing leaders in the Old and New Testaments. Courses will address leading the church through evangelism, the fundamentals of Christian counseling, and organizational theory for churches.

Program Objectives

After completion of the Master of Arts in Leadership, students will be able to:

  • Define and apply the central concepts and theories central to leadership by identifying and utilizing the functions of management to plan, organize, control, and lead in an organization. (Both)
  • Define, apply, and demonstrate Christ-like attitudes, values, and worldview in Planning, managing, and interactions and will recognize the importance of ethical practices and behavior when planning, making decisions, and faced with moral dilemmas. (Both)
  • Plan, assess, and exhibit strategic communication, discuss and assess individual and group behavior in an organization, define various legal cases and precedence that affects the creation and operation of businesses, and will identify, apply, and assess key categories in a financial model in all areas in the workplace. (Business administration track)
  • Trace and apply key leaders in the Old and New Testament and will define and
    evaluate the history, Christian doctrine, and practices and the application of this
    in one’s personal journey with Christ. (Christian Studies track)
  • Define and assesses the implementation of leadership in the church and the
    effect of organization, administration and spiritual formation to the community, the
    congregation, outreach witnessing, the family, and the Christian leader.
    (Christian Studies track)
