FERPA Policies
Hannibal-LaGrange University adheres to the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). The privacy and confidentiality of all student records shall be preserved. Official student academic records, supporting documents, and other student files shall be maintained only by members of the college staff hired for that purpose.
Separate files are maintained for the following educational records: admissions and academic records, supporting documents, and general education records and financial records in the office of registrar and the office of business affairs; and financial aid records in the financial aid office.
HLGU has designated the following items as directory information: student name, address, email address, Student ID, telephone number, date and place of birth, major field of study, advisor, participation in officially recognized activities and sports, weight and height of members of athletic teams, dates of attendance, degrees and awards received, and most previous school attended. The university may disclose any of those items without prior consent, unless notified in writing to the contrary at the time of registration for each term.
